A growth mindset is when someone can improve their academic performance by putting in the effort and not giving up when a task gets to hard. A fixed mindset assumes that our character, intelligence, and creative ability are static givens which we can’t change, and success is the affirmation of that inherent intelligence; striving for success and avoiding failure at all costs become a way of maintaining the sense of being smart. Me personally I find myself having a fixed mindset. I've learned to adapt to a growth mindset and it has helped me in college for the future.
